East Country Hoedowners Clogging Team

Formed in February 1991 under the direction of Jayne Treadwell, the East Country Hoedowners traditional clogging team exhibits a variety of styles which exemplify the rich heritage and the art of clogging in North Carolina.  The diversity of footwork among individual members projects a unique versatility in free-style, precision, smooth, hoedown and line routines.

We travel throughout the state performing and competing at fairs, festivals and clogging events.  Our emphasis is on FUN while promoting and preserving the traditional southern Appalachian clogging heritage through music selection, choreography and presentation.  We also acknowledge the ever-changing face of clogging and include routines to more contemporary music as well.

While this youthful high energy group provides foot-stomping, hand-clapping "down home" good entertainment, they also give their audiences the opportunity join in the fun and participate themselves!

For 8 summers the East Country Hoedowners provided clogging and hoedown entertainment at the Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Festival in Summit Station, PA.

Reasonable Rates. 45 minute shows. Fees support team expenses.
